Matyas Marofka, Artistic Director of Ladder Art Company from Hungary led a movement theatre workshop at TEATR BRAMA as part of Bramat Festival with 2084 Project that was selected for the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists (EFFEA) grant in partnership with Istanbul Fringe Festival (Turkey) and Winterwerft Festival (Germany).
During the one-week intensive workshop from August 24th to 29th, selected participants worked on different physical theatre and actor training exercises that aim to develop non-verbal means of expression, qualities of movement, ensemble awareness, and physical incorporation of character work. The training exercises are based on the works and approaches of J. Grotowski, M. Chekhov, J. Lecoq, the Viewpoints, and different physical theatre practices with the usage of movement-based theatre training.
As a result of intense theatre work, a workshop presentation took place at BRAMAT Festival on the 31st of August as part of the festival program. The project developed with the partnership of three different festivals in Europe gave participants the unique opportunity to both learn, develop, and perform in an international festival.
